On the 26th of November the ‘Madrid High Scorers’ Concert was held in the Manuel de Falla Hall of the central SGAE offices in Madrid, to celebrate and recognise the achievements of a small group of music exam candidates in Madrid between 2013-2015.
British Council School student, Maria Emily Jenkinson Alvarez, was one of 10 of the highest scoring distinction candidates chosen from over 2300 examinees to perform “L’Orage” by Burgmüeller in the concert.
Kevin Robb, the Madrid representative of the ABRSM, and coordinator of the MusiC21 programme in the school, awarded certificates to Maria and the other performers.
Mayra Pérez, piano teacher at the British Council School and member of the MusiC21 teaching team, worked with Maria in preparation for this event. Our congratulations go to Maria and to her teacher.
