This month the School will celebrate its annual We Love Books Festival. This year there will be online sessions. It is a month full of book related activities, stories and storytelling, authors, poetry, Shakespeare and many more things.

From April 17th to the 30th, the School is giving over to the world of Literature and our online classrooms will be full of stories, theatre and some of the best illustrations to do with British children's literature. Not forgetting that the 23rd April, as well as International Book Day is also the feast day St George, the patron Saint of England, it is also the anniversary of Shakespeare’s death. The previous day, 22nd April, is the anniversary of Cervantes death, we are also celebrating these anniversaries.


Ed Vere

Ed Vere is a British writer and illustrator of children's books. He won the Highland Children's Book Award in 2007 for his book, The Getaway and was shortlisted for the Kate Greenaway Medal for children's book illustration. He will be doing a storytelling and drawing session with some of our Early Years and Primary students.



SF Said

SF Said is an award-winning children's author. His first book, Varjak Paw, won the Smarties Prize for Children's Literature. The sequel, The Outlaw Varjak Paw, won the Blue Peter Book Of The Year.  His third book, Phoenix, was chosen to represent the UK on the IBBY International Honour Book List, shortlisted for the Guardian Children's Fiction Award. He will be talking to the children about reading and will tell them how he went from being a young reader like themselves, and became a writer. 

Monserrat Iglesias

Montserrat Iglesias Santos studied Hispanic Philology and Italian Philology at the University of Santiago de Compostela. After studying and researching in the United States, Italy and Belgium, she obtained the European Doctorate in Theory of Literature and Comparative Literature. In October 1998 she began her collaboration with various media outlets as a presenter of cultural programmes.

María Vera

María Vera is 28 years old and has written two poetry books, Vida después de la huida and Escala en Nunca Jamás, both published by Valparaiso. She will talk to our students about her personal experience with poetry.

César Mallorquí

César Mallorquí, one of the most popular authors of youth literature, will talk to students virtually, our students are eager readers of some of his novels as La puerta de Agartha, Las lágrimas de Shiva o La Catedral.

Diego Arboleda

Diego Arboleda has attended to most of our Festivals. Arboleda with Raúl Sagospe, are a successful tandem in children's and youth literature. Together the have created funny and original stories with crazy characters in books like Mil millones de tuberías, Aventuras en espiral, Papeles arrugados or Prohibido leer a Lewis Carroll.
